MERSEYSIDE PET AMBULANCE VOLUNTEERS
We are now recruiting volunteers to assist at various events throughout Merseyside.
We aim to provide a service at events such as county shows, sponsored walks country fairs etc in the same way that the St Johns ambulance cover these shows for people.
This will provide a valuable service where we can help with injured animals and provide basic first aid advice and emergency transport to a veterinary practice if necessary.
In order to achieve this aim free of charge we are now looking for volunteers to work with us.
DUTIES OF VOLUNTEERS
- to talk to members of the public who require information provide - basic first aid if necessary and to generally help with events.
Volunteers will always be supported by a full-time member of staff who will either be a Veterinary Nurse or one of our experienced response drivers. Uniform will be provided as will basic training in the use of our equipment.
This role would ideally suit someone wishing to gain experience within animal welfare or undertaking a course in animal care or training to become a veterinary nurse or qualified staff looking for diversity.
Travelling expenses or transport will be provided within the Merseyside area.
We feel this would help to further the knowledge and experience of those who volunteer to work with us and would be a rewarding and interesting experience.
