What to look forward to:

Indian Head Massage (IHM), or Champissage, is a wonderfully relaxing therapy traditionally practiced in India for over a thousand years and based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system.

The head, neck & shoulders are important energy centres which store a great deal of the physical and emotional tension that mount up in everyday life – IHM is applied with a firm, gentle rhythm to improve circulation, feed the brain & master gland, clear blockages and relieve stress & tension, ease aches & pains, promote relaxation, calm and uplift the spirit and restore general wellbeing.

IHM is a valuable technique for combating stress, which can manifest as hunched shoulders, tension headache, migraine, hair loss, psoriasis, eye strain, besides physical/mental exhaustion & emotional turmoil. Massage to the upper back, arms, shoulders, neck and head induces tranquillity, releases
anxiety, improves alertness and focus, memory & concentration, and relieves mental and physical tiredness, edginess and depression. Facial massage tones facial muscles, improves lymphatic drainage,
reduces puffiness and helps unblock sinuses.

A full treatment takes 45-50 minutes and is usually given through clothing, with the client sitting
comfortably in a chair – it can be received anytime, anywhere, it doesn’t require special equipment and can easily be adapted to suit the client’s needs.

Traditional and/or aromatherapeutic oils can be used to treat certain conditions or for a nurturing and more profound effect.

Indian head massage is suitable for all ages and it can be successfully combined with reflexology,
aromatherapy, and especially Reiki.
